About the artist
I'm Elena — a botanical and nature illustrator based in Bristol. I've spent the better part of a decade drawing the quiet details of the natural world: the particular curl of a fern unfurling, the geometry of a pressed flower's petals, the improbable beauty of a garden after rain.
My work lives at the intersection of scientific precision and something looser — an attempt to capture not just what a plant looks like, but what it feels like. I work primarily in gouache and watercolour, with pieces available as prints and for commercial licensing.
Commissions open year-round. I take on a small number of projects each season so I can give each one the time it deserves.
Commissions
Each commission is a conversation. Tell me what you need and we'll go from there.
How it works
"Elena captured exactly what I was imagining — and then made it better. The wildflower design we commissioned for our wedding was the most commented-on detail of the entire day."
"We licensed three of Elena's botanical patterns for our spring textile range. Her work is technically impeccable and commercially sophisticated in a way that's rare."
"I asked for 'something that feels like walking into a forest at golden hour.' Elena absolutely nailed it. The process was smooth and communication was brilliant throughout."
